About the Presentation: Mr. Creis will explain the establishment of Spanish La Florida in 1513 after the arrival of Juan Ponce de Leon to North America, the periods when Florida was under rule by the Kingdom of Spain and the impact of Spain´s Heritage today. About the Presenter: Honorable Cándido Creis, Consul General of Spain in Miami for Florida, Georgia and South Carolina Cándido Creis is a distinguished career diplomat in the Spanish Foreign Office, positions held include: Head of Foreign Policy and Security Area at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Madrid, Royal Household of His Majesty the King of Spain as Deputy Director of the Department of Protocol, Permanent Representation of Spain to the European Union in Brussels, Counselor at the Embassy of Spain in Tel Aviv, and Chief of Staff of the Undersecretary of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. Cándido Creis also served as Vice Commissioner of the Spanish Pavilion of the World Expo -Milano 2015 ("Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life").
